Description

The Hobbs Fern Sanctuary is a NEWFS property in northern New Hampshire where we have seen nearly 50 kinds of ferns and other pteridophytes. We have led several fern field trips there, and taught a workshop on Wood ferns. The diversity of club-mosses and of horsetails is also impressive. After inside discussion of photographs, drawings, and specimens, we will hike around the Sanctuary to see them in situ. The evergreen species will stand out well against the background so late in the season.
