3:30 Location Bring Description Most of norhteastern Massachusetts has acidic geology,
mainly granite and its derivitives. An area in Bolton with
calcareous rock has allowed historic economic usage and a
varied flora. We will look for 22 fern species, including
Ebony and Maidenhair Spleenworts, Maidenhair and Fragile
Ferns (although some may be late in their season). We will
discuss field identification techniques. Expect moderate
hiking, some poison ivy, but few bugs. Comments
